Safe, stable, and affordable housing is something far too many Minnesotans are looking for these days. Volunteers of America MN/WI has long recognized housing’s foundational role in building community well-being, and we help maintain stable housing for over 5,000 people each year.
We also recognize that the challenge to find affordable homes for everyone requires our whole community. Partnership is essential. That’s why we’re proud to be involved in innovative new projects such as Peris Hill. Located in the Lowry Hill neighborhood of South Minneapolis, Peris Hill provides 15 affordable units for young people aging out of the foster care system and another 30 affordable units for people who are beginning to build their careers. We are partnering with the Graves Foundation, the Link, Connections to Independence, and Hennepin County to make this exciting project happen.
“It’s vital that we increase affordable housing options to address housing needs in our community,” Volunteers of America MN/WI Senior Housing Director Kelly Zelenka notes. “Peris Hill adds 45 units of safe, comfortable housing where people will have access to a broad array of community amenities.”
Peris Hill is expected to open in November and is currently accepting rental applications.
